Call Me Humbled

Jordan had his last football game of the season tonight. Unfortunately, he had what was probably the worst game I have ever seen him play. Ever.

I was on him pretty hard during the game. And he is probably even harder on himself. After the game, as everyone was clearing out, I looked around to find him. I finally see him all by himself at the end of the field leaning up against the chain link fence.

I walked over to him and said harshly, “Jordan are you crying? Are you pouting?” He replied “No” to both of my questions. So I said, “Well, what are you doing?” Without lifting his head he said, “I’m praying!”

Well, at least one of us had their attitude straight. Humbled yet again by one of my kids.

I feel like I’ve been there. Pretty tough.

Leave it to those kids to put us in our place. On many days I’m certain that’s why I have them. WE’ve both got 3, does that mean we’ll need “extra” humility? ugh, I hope not!
